Reduction in tumor grade and Ki-67 in postmenopausal patient with node-positive invasive ductal carcinoma following combination hormone replacement therapy cessation: a case report

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: While praised for its benefits in treating symptoms related to menopausal changes, hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been associated with an increased risk hormone-dependent cancer development, particularly endometrial and breast. Few studies have elucidated the relationship between HRT cessation receptor-positive breast proliferation. We report herein, best of our knowledge, first case 28.6% relative reduction proliferation index marker Ki-67 node-positive following cessation.

Nogo-B receptor expression correlates negatively with malignancy grade and ki-67 antigen expression in invasive ductal breast carcinoma.

BACKGROUND Nogo-B receptor (NgBR) has been shown to be involved in endothelial cell chemotaxis and morphogenesis. However, few studies analyzing its expression in cancer cells have been performed. MATERIALS AND METHODS We examined NgBR expression in 233 patients with invasive ductal breast carcinoma (IDC) and corresponding non-malignant breast tissues (NMBT) on mRNA (real-time polymerase chai...

Aortic hemodynamics in postmenopausal women following cessation of hormone therapy

Central (aortic) blood pressure and aortic pulse wave characteristics are measures of cardiovascular health, predictive of cardiovascular mortality. Previous studies have compared aortic hemodynamics in women who do and do not take menopausal hormone therapy, but characteristics of these parameters following cessation of treatment have not been defined. Therefore, the purpose of this study was ...

Semi-automated evaluation of Ki-67 index in invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast

A significant factor that affects the value of the Ki-67 proliferation index (IK) is the interpretation and implementation approach. This method is based on visual or automated methods to count tumor nuclei labeled with Ki-67 antigen, and is prone to errors. Detection of Ki-67 is a useful tool in breast cancer and contributes to its molecular classification. The current study proposes a method ...
